Oklahoma Begins Fight for Sovereignty

Oklahoma house passed a resolution in a tug of war with the federal government. The battle is brewing across the country as more states are standing up to the Obama's spend happy administration claiming the feds are over stepping their boundaries (which are laid out in the 10th amendment for those in govt schools, see earlier post).

"We give all this money to all these different entities, including automakers, and now they’re talking about, ‘Well maybe it’s better to let them go bankrupt,’” Key said. "Well, maybe we should have let them go bankrupt before we gave them the money.”
I wonder what Obama will say about this one.... something like, "their just clinging to their guns, and following their religion, or racist" as some have accused recent "tea party protesters" of being. The point is here the feds have a very limited amount of responsibilities provided under the constitution, the rest of governing is intended to be at the state level or not at all.

Least Free States Mostly Liberal

A new study released by George Mason University is a "first-ever comprehensive ranking of the American states on their public policies affecting individual freedoms in the economic, social, and personal spheres." As it turns out
" The freest states in the country are New Hampshire, Colorado, and South Dakota, which together achieve a virtual tie for first place. All three states feature low taxes and government spending -- and middling levels of regulation and paternalism.

New York is the least overall free by a considerable margin, followed by New Jersey, Rhode Island, California, and Maryland."

All I have to say on this one is, "Duh!". I am glad that someone respectable did the time and research to finally show was libertarians and conservatives have been saying for a while now. You can not punish the "achievers" (Boortz) and reward lazy failures. It simply makes no sense. Unless you are a liberal politician that is. Lets break it down.
Im going to start with the public/government schools, which are reek of socialism. When you control the schools you control a generation of minds. By molding the minds of the children, public schools have managed to create a whole generation of people taught never to fight back, even if you are not the aggressor, but to go get a teacher, "the govt". A generation who has been taught that there is no winners and losers, as long as you put in a good effort you pass the class. In other words, if you are have no marketable skills when you get out of school, its o.k., you "put in a good effort", here is a salary anyway (welfare). In the mean time, the students who do well in school and later in higher education pick up the slack and get their income reduced. At the same time the govt is demonizing these people for not paying their "fair share" and calling them "greedy"?!?!

The average liberal will not understand my point here because they agree. The thing is, where in the U.S. Constitution does it say anything along the lines of "congress and the president shall have highest authority the ability to determine when a citizen has earned what is deemed enough money and rob him of any extra money to 'give back' to the lazy." I suppose if you went to a public school you didn't spend much time on the Constitution, Bill of Rights, or the Declaration of Independence. You do spend whole months going over European history which is plagued with socialism and communism. A coincidence? Doubtful. To be continued......

Obama Plans to Close "Tax Loopholes"

Obama has come up with yet another brilliant plan! (note the sarcasm) He has decided that the "evil" corporations are not paying their "fair share" when they do business in America but choose to keep their earnings in accounts outside of the U.S.'s tax jurisdiction. A plan so that:
"companies would not be able to write off domestic expenses for generating profits abroad. The goal is to reduce the incentive for U.S. companies to base all or part of their operations in other countries."
To reduce incentive for U.S. companies to base all or part of their operations in other countries? How about reducing taxes? How in hell is this going to convince companies that they should stick around? If I owned a business I would be packing my bags and heading to another country that is not going to demonize my entrepreneurial habits. America already has the second highest corporate tax rate in the world. How is punishing the companies that want to actually do business here going to create any new jobs? Is that not what he is trying to do? This is just asinine and retarded.

Obama: Champion of Communism?

Recently, Prez BO announced that Wall Street will never again play as large a roll in the U.S. economy as it did previously. Now it gets scarier when he continues with:
"That means that more talent, more resources will be going to other sectors of the economy," he said. "I actually think that's healthy. We don't want every single college grad with mathematical aptitude to become a derivatives trader. We want some of them to go into engineering, and we want some of them to be going into computer design."
Since when is it the roll of the government to decide what profession people who are good at math go into? I am going to go ahead and call it like I see it, Obama is moving this country towards something we have been fighting to avoid for the better part of 100 years now COMMUNISM! It has not, does not, and can not work. Proof? W. vs. E. Berlin, there is your proof. Millions of people from the communist side fled to the capitalist in the West. So many fled the Communist constructed a wall to prevent people from fleeing their "fair" society.

NH legalizes Gay Marriage and Medical Marijuana

Im in agreement with the legislature on these subjects.  I would only note that in my opinion, out of fairness, they should simply call it something else. I say this only because of the fact that the act of getting married has been defined for centuries many various religions, way longer than any government has been defining it. So to be fair here and avoid the debate, they should have come up with a creative new title for gay marriage. I have no problem with gay people  receiving the same legal rights as heterosexuals.
With both issues I go with the old, "if it doesn't hurt others, it should be allowed". I think thats a pretty good rule to go by.......

Rice Defends U.S. Interrogation Policy

Former S.O.S. Rice strongly defended U.S. interrogation techniques under Bush that she, along with congress, approved of. In the article she discusses the fact that water-boarding is not torture and the fact that it is legal.

This is a hot topic and I have to take Ms Rice's side on this one. I'm sure that water-boarding in not the least bit pleasant, but it isn't suppose to be. Under international law torture is defined as,
" any act by which severe pain or suffering, whether physical or mental, is intentionally inflicted on a person for such purposes as obtaining from him or a third person information or a confession, punishing him for an act he or a third person has committed or is suspected of having committed, or intimidating or coercing him or a third person, or for any reason based on discrimination of any kind, when such pain or suffering is inflicted by or at the instigation of or with the consent or acquiescence of a public official or other person acting in an official capacity. It does not include pain or suffering arising only from, inherent in or incidental to lawful sanctions."
Now, don't get me wrong, I am against torture but that is not what water-boarding is. Think about it, many high school and college students go through much worse ordeal, if not the same, in the form of hazing every year. Why is there no outcry for them? My guess is there is no political motivation behind simple hazing, the implications of this are much greater. What worries me the most is the lefts ability to completely deny islamic extremism as a threat. I for one do not want to relive another 9/11, it seems others on Obama's team don't feel the same. They seem to think that business is the problem with this country and has done everything within his power (and more) to restrict economic growth, and everything in its power to make America weaker and more vulnerable. This whole Water-Boarding sideshow is just a distraction from what is going on today, like say a $3.5 Trillion budget.........

Flaws in Carbon Footprint Concept

I'm going to dive right in here, there is a great site that is run by the creator of the weather channel (John Coleman ) and is ICECAP.US  (International Climate and Environmental Change Assessment Project). They recently posted an interesting article regarding "Co2 Calculators" and the flaws in the concept of a Carbon Footprint.  It is well written and has sources. The Author shows that you can prevent one hundred billionth of a degree of warming, for $364 each year, with NativeEnergy.com (which is completely ridiculous). The whole idea of Global Warming seems to be for people to scam their fellow man under the disguise of an environmentalist. I feel that the author is dead right in his point and thought it was good food for thought. Let me know what you think....
